AGILE SERBIA MEET-UP

Essential SAFe— 10 Key Elements for Successful SAFe Implementation

13th September 2018, with Miroslav Aničin

Agile Serbia organized MeetUp on the 13th of September 2018, in Belgrade. The topic was “Essential SAFe— 10 Key Elements for Successful SAFe Implementation”.

In Serbia, there is a little talk about the Scale Agile Framework. More and more companies need scaling because of the large number of teams working on a large-scale project. The Scaled Agile Framework is a very structured way to help large companies begin to adopt an Agile methodology.

The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), is a set of organization and workflow patterns intended to guide enterprises in scaling lean and agile practices. SAFe is one of a growing number of frameworks that seek to address the problems encountered when scaling beyond a single team.

The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) has proven to scale in all situations, from complex software and systems development to bond trading and medical devices to memory chips and fighter aircraft. But, with such a robust framework, the question arises: how closely does an organization need to follow various SAFe practices to get the desired result? Also, not every implementation realizes the full business benefits that others achieve. When diagnosing SAFe implementation problems, it has been discovered that these enterprises have skipped some of the essential practices. It’s easy to see how that can happen. After all, it’s a big framework, how would an enterprise know what’s most important?

On this meetup, we discussed about a starting point for implementing SAFe and described the 10 most critical elements needed to realize the majority of the framework’s benefits.
